There are some names that you just don't want to have, and Loammi is one of those names. It means, not mine. Loammi was a product of his mother's harlotry. And everywhere he went people knew that he wasn't Hosea's son. But then something wonderful happens, his name is changed to Ammi, which means, mine.

God made a covenant with Abram, and in doing so He gave Abram part of His name and He took Abraham's name and made it a part of His name. In the same way, Jesus took on our name, Son of Man, and gave us His name, Christian. How are we representing Him to this world?
